1 Corinthians 2:12-16 ESV - Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

I love the Holy Spirit. I think one of the reasons I love the Holy Spirit is that, without Him, I would not grasp or understand ANYTHING that God has done for me!

• We see here in 1 Corinthians 2 that we receive The Spirit SO THAT we can understand all that God freely gives to us.

• Understand that His Gifts exist.

• Understand what His Gifts are.

• Understand why He gave them to us.

Look at this Spiritual Truth flow chart here in 1 Corinthians 2:13 … Holy Spirit teaches TRUTH to Believers -> Those Believers apply those Spiritual Truths for/to other Believers -> Resulting in those Believers knowing & understanding God more.

I believe that ALL BELIEVERS should be simultaneously doing three things in their life:

Learning from the Holy Spirit.

• As Christians, we should have CONTINUOUS dialogue with the Holy Spirit … and we should LISTEN to Him!

• This will include reading our Bibles and praying consistently.

Learning from other Believers what they have learned from the Holy Spirit.

• Look at the distinction made here between SPIRITUAL WISDOM and human wisdom! There is a difference!

• If your teaching (given or received) makes as much sense to non-believers as it does to Believers … it is likely human wisdom & not Spiritual Truth!

Sharing with other Believers what they themselves have learned from the Holy Spirit.

• This doesn’t have to be full blown sermons … but God speaks to us SO THAT we would share with others! … it could be a spouse or good friend … or a small group … or a Bible Study … or on social media … share, share, share!
