9/23/2025 Daily Devotion: It's Not On You

Galatians 2:20 NASB - I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Within the Christian Church, this verse in Galatians 2:20 is pretty well known, recited often, frequently memorized … but how many of us let this verse penetrate the depths of our souls each day?

  • The Christian Life is not you & me trying hard to do a bunch of good & right things.

  • The Christian Life is not you & me running around trying to serve other people.

  • The Christian Life is not you & me performing a bunch of religious traditions as well as we can.

  • The Christian Life is JESUS CHRIST LIVING IN & THROUGH you & me.

This completely changes HOW you live out your Christian Faith. (I know it revitalized my own Walk!)

  • The pressure is not on you & me to perform correctly … when we just come TO HIM, He tells us that His load is light.

  • The Law is heavy, we can’t carry it … we can’t do it! … BUT His load is light!!

What does Jesus living through you & me look like? … it is a life lived BY FAITH.

  • When we come to Him with our lives, He shows us WHO HE IS.

  • When we start to KNOW HIM we will LOVE HIM.

  • When we LOVE HIM we will TRUST HIM.

  • When we TRUST HIM we will FOLLOW/OBEY HIM.

A life of FAITH is a life lived Trusting & Obeying Him.

  • Do you live your life by Faith in God?

  • Do you live your life by faith in yourself?

  • Do you live your life by faith in a career? a bank account? a relationship? a government? an image? a pleasure? a religion? a mission?

The first step to living life by true Faith is to be crucified with Christ … to sacrifice your self, to turn over your life to Him. Have you done that? When you do, His Life will TRANSFORM you and live in & through you … producing a life that will change you and the entirety of your world!
