9/12/2025 Daily Devotion: Only Two Options

Romans 12:1-2 NASB - Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

What shapes your thoughts, feelings and actions? What are you pursuing with each day of your life? What has the most influence on how you act, what you do & who you are?

• There are really only two answers … God or the world?

Why do you live where you live? Why do you work where you work? Why are your people your people? Why do you do what you do for fun? Why do you watch what you watch? Why is your schedule the way it is? Why do you spend your money on what you spend your money on? Why do you get angry, happy, frustrated, excited, sad or scared?

• You are being influenced in all of these areas … and you get to choose your influence! … God or the world?

The World says to fight for your self, get what you can get, discover your self & define your own truth. The World asks, “Did God really say that?” ... “How could He mean that?” ... “What kind of God would say that?” ... The World says that you don’t need God, you can do this on your own.

God says “FOLLOW ME, I will TRANSFORM you from the inside, into who I designed you to be, SO THAT you can discover, experience, and KNOW me.” … The ALMIGHTY GOD says “Don’t be shaped & molded by this world, let me TRANSFORM you and all that you are by RENEWING your mind in Me.”

• Being TRANSFORMED by God will impact every area of your life!

• He transforms you SO THAT you can know His Will for your life … and DO IT.

The World is always out there & our own sin clings so very closely to us … but God is WITH us! He is right there, asking you & me to TRUST HIM … Here is a great response to Him:

• Do a new work in me, God. You’re brilliant and good, and You love me. So do whatever You’d like. And whatever it is, I’m in. I’ll trust You more than I trust myself.

You don’t need to do better. You don’t need motivation. You don’t need inspiration. You need to be TRANSFORMED BY GOD. Let Him do it.
