8/7/25 Daily Devotion: It Is Good

Psalm 92:1-5 ESV - It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep!

During Creation, God paused at the end of EACH DAY to take in the GOODNESS of His Work.

  • He calls us to do the same!

  • Do we reflect on each one of our days?  Or do we collapse from exhaustion & busily move onto the next one?

  • If we do reflect, do we see HIS GOOD WORK or do we focus on pain, frustration & anxiety?

This practice is so important to me that I have a reminder on my phone go off every night at bedtime with this passage from Psalms:

  • Psalm 92:1-5 - “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep!”

DECLARE His Faithfulness

  • God is Faithful to supply our needs.

  • God is Faithful to fulfill our desires.

  • God is Faithful … it is WHO HE IS … but we often miss it!

  • We want our needs supplied in a different way, a more indulgent way, an easier way.

  • We want the desires of our flesh fulfilled over the true desire of our hearts.

  • Take time at the end of each day to DECLARE with Gratitude the ways that your Loving Father God has Faithfully provided for you!

Find JOY in His Works

  • Sometimes we can experience His Provision during a busy day but miss out on His JOY in His Work.

  • Take time at the end of every day to RECOGNIZE THE JOY from His Work.

  • See God in your day. He is your JOY … even in the pain, struggle, and difficult … HE. IS. THERE.

I have yet to have a day (even the most frustrating & painful ones!) that I was unable to find HIS FAITHFULNESS! ... I trust that you will have the same experience.

IT IS GOOD TO GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD.
