Psalm 92:1-5 ESV - It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep!
During Creation, God paused at the end of EACH DAY to take in the GOODNESS of His Work.
He calls us to do the same!
Do we reflect on each one of our days? Or do we collapse from exhaustion & busily move onto the next one?
If we do reflect, do we see HIS GOOD WORK or do we focus on pain, frustration & anxiety?
This practice is so important to me that I have a reminder on my phone go off every night at bedtime with this passage from Psalms:
Psalm 92:1-5 - “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep!”
DECLARE His Faithfulness
God is Faithful to supply our needs.
God is Faithful to fulfill our desires.
God is Faithful … it is WHO HE IS … but we often miss it!
We want our needs supplied in a different way, a more indulgent way, an easier way.
We want the desires of our flesh fulfilled over the true desire of our hearts.
Take time at the end of each day to DECLARE with Gratitude the ways that your Loving Father God has Faithfully provided for you!
Find JOY in His Works
Sometimes we can experience His Provision during a busy day but miss out on His JOY in His Work.
Take time at the end of every day to RECOGNIZE THE JOY from His Work.
See God in your day. He is your JOY … even in the pain, struggle, and difficult … HE. IS. THERE.
I have yet to have a day (even the most frustrating & painful ones!) that I was unable to find HIS FAITHFULNESS! ... I trust that you will have the same experience.
IT IS GOOD TO GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD.
