7/18/25 Daily Devotion: The Lifecycle Of Truth

Job 28:20, 23-28 - “20 From where, then, does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? … 23 “God understands the way to it, and he knows its place. 24 For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. 25 When he gave to the wind its weight and apportioned the waters by measure, 26 when he made a decree for the rain and a way for the lightning of the thunder, 27 then he saw it and declared it; he established it, and searched it out. 28 And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

Where is WISDOM? … Where can true Wisdom be found?

• Are we even looking for it?

• We can often confuse Wisdom for Knowledge … they are not the same!

• Both Wisdom & Knowledge involve an interaction with TRUTH … but to different degrees!

THE LIFECYCLE OF TRUTH

IGNORANCE - NO TRUTH

• The Absence of Truth

• Many people struggle to acknowledge that Truth even exists … let alone have any awareness of what it is!

• If you don’t recognize that God exists … Truth is foreign to you.

KNOWLEDGE - KNOW TRUTH

• The Accumulation of Truth

• Acquiring knowledge does not, in and of itself, accomplish much of anything at all!

• Knowing what the Bible says, knowing what Jesus did, knowing Who God says He is is not our ultimate goal.

UNDERSTANDING - GET TRUTH

• The Assimilation of Truth

• When we start to connect the dots of Truth we begin to uncover the nuance of how this life plays out in reality … we discover the WHY & HOW behind the who & what.

• As we EXPERIENCE GOD we begin to understand WHO HE IS & how He has worked, is working and will work in & through our lives!

WISDOM - LIVED TRUTH

• The Application of Truth

• Wisdom is BELIEF IN ACTION … when we take what we know & understand about God and LIVE IT OUT. We actually live our lives based on the TRUTH of Who God is!

• Hebrews 11 tells us that Faith = Belief + Trusting Obedience (Action!) … True WISDOM is True FAITH!

DECEPTION - FALSE TRUTH

• The Altering of Truth

• This is where Satan and the World around us spends all of their time!

• How do we avoid deception? … Always keep God Himself as your source, approach, deliverer & measure of TRUTH.

• When we allow culture or self to be our measuring stick for Truth … deception is quick to follow!

Wisdom is found is GOD’s TRUTH … don’t stop your pursuit of God at Knowledge … Know it AND Do it! Live your life like the God you believe in is REAL!!
