7/17/25 Daily Devotion: Give me LIFE!

Psalms 119:33-40 - “33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. 34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. 35 Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. 36 Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! 37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. 38 Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. 39 Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. 40 Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!”

David is described to us as being a man after God’s Own Heart … what does that mean? How does that look?

• David gives us glimpses of his pursuit of God throughout Scripture but I believe one of the most succinct descriptions of a life lived in PURSUIT OF GOD’s HEART is found here in Psalm 119.

If we are going to live a life in pursuit of God’s Own Heart we should … follow me here … LOOK. … TO. … GOD. 🤯

God TEACH ME

• Show me what to do & what not to do … and I will OBEY!

God GIVE ME UNDERSTANDING

• I will OBEY … please help me see WHY you direct me the way you do. Help me learn YOUR HEART behind Your Direction!

God LEAD ME

• Direct me in & through the Good Works that you have prepared for me to do. Show me how my belief can be executed in FAITH!

God DRAW MY HEART to You

• Create in me a clean heart that is not distracted & swayed away by my selfish, sinful flesh that clings so closely!

God TURN MY EYES to You

• I am surrounded by distractions that keep me from You and Your Ways … strengthen me with Your Power to focus on You!

God CONFIRM YOUR PROMISES

• As doubt creeps in, REMIND me of your ways and WHO YOU ARE that I may rightfully RESPECT & TRUST You!

God WASH AWAY MY SHAME

• You are Holy and I am far from that … keep your AMAZING GRACE ever present that I do not live separated from You!

God GIVE ME LIFE

• Life is KNOWING YOU … help me walk in YOUR WAYS and know YOUR HEART that I might live LIFE ABUNDANTLY!
