6/20/2025 Daily Devotion: Focus. Hear. Do.

Acts 13:2-3 (ESV) - “2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.”

When you spend designated & focused time sincerely WORSHIPPING God … be prepared to HEAR FROM HIM too!

True, Sincere WORSHIP of God is completely focused ON GOD.

• Not what He can do for YOU.

• Not how He makes YOU feel.

• Not how YOU respond to Him.

• WHO. HE. IS.

• Now … a part of Who God is involves His provision for & relationship with us … so it is an appropriate part of WORSHIP to offer Gratitude & Thanksgiving to Him for His Faithfulness to us … but He is so much more than what He does for us!

When we FOCUS entirely on God, we are in prime position to hear FROM GOD.

• Distractions are set aside … specifically the distraction of self! … and we bask in WHO HE IS.

• As we draw closer to Who He Is we are able to recognize What He Does.

• Who He Is created you for a Purpose and calls you to His Work … to be involved in WHAT HE DOES.

• The Work that God has called you to do is not your performance FOR GOD … it is your engagement WITH GOD.

When God speaks, when God nudges, when God calls you to join Him in His Work … OBEY!

• FOLLOW Him.

• DEPEND on Him.

• TRUST Him.

Our truest form of WORSHIP to Almighty God is a LIFE completely sacrificed to Him & transformed by Him.

• What if you lived your life FOCUSED ON GOD in all aspects? Every day? Every facet of your life CONSIDERING GOD and Who He Is?

• What if your whole life was presented to God in WORSHIP of Him?

I can answer that for you … if you present your whole life to God in Worship … HE WILL IGNITE HIS PURPOSE in & through you!
