5/30/2025 Daily Devotion: Knock On The Freaking Door

Matthew 7:7-8 - “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

Receiving God’s Blessings involves ACTION on our part!

Step 1 - ASK

• It sounds simple, but how often do we neglect to APPROACH GOD with our desires & our requests? Too often we think requests are “too small” for God or simply think that “we got this” and can handle it on our own.

• God PROMISES that we will receive the true desires of our hearts … WHEN WE ASK.

Step 2 - SEEK

• I love looking at this verse as a PROGRESSION … once we have asked God & trust that we will receive His answer, we must ACTIVELY LOOK for His answer!

• His Ways are above & beyond our wildest dreams, so we must seek His Answers WITH HIM … because His Answer is often WILDLY DIFFERENT from what we had in mind while asking 😆

Step 3 - KNOCK

• We can seek with confidence because He promises that we WILL FIND the answer to our prayer … often, His Answer will require some type of ENGAGEMENT on our part, a STEP OF FAITH to actually step into His Answer.

• How many Answered Prayer porches do we make it to but fail to KNOCK on the door & step into?!

We can TRUST GOD with our requests … knowing that He will see through any misguided assumptions from our view and deliver us to the TRUE DESIRES OF OUR HEARTS … all that’s left to do is to knock on that door and join Him in there!
