5/12/2025 Daily Devotion: Follow Him

John 21:15-19 - “When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs. … Follow me.”

Jesus’ words to Peter here are Jesus’ words to you and Jesus’ words to me today … FOLLOW ME.

No matter what you’ve done in your past … FOLLOW ME.

• Peter had denied Jesus. Peter had hid. Peter was scared. Peter was lost, confused and wholly unsure of what to do with his life … FOLLOW ME.

No matter where you are and what you’ve done … you can FOLLOW JESUS with your NEXT STEP.

• Jesus didn’t lay out any details for Peter here … simply FOLLOW ME.

Peter immediately got worried about others around him, concerned about how their calling compared to his (you & I would never do this, would we?! 😒)

• Jesus said “Don’t worry about them! What is their life to you?!? YOU. FOLLOW. ME.”

God has a unique PLAN & PURPOSE for your life that He has uniquely and specifically designed YOU to do … YOU. FOLLOW. HIM.

• Don’t get distracted or discouraged by other people … set your eyes on Jesus!

What does FOLLOWING JESUS look like? How do you do it?

• FOCUS on Jesus. Read your Bible.

• Get to KNOW Jesus. Study your Bible.

• TRUST Jesus. Live out your Bible.

• OBEY Jesus as He guides your steps and your desires.

FOLLOW JESUS into this day, FOLLOW JESUS into this next week, FOLLOW JESUS into this next year, FOLLOW JESUS into this next season of your life … we are excited to see where He leads you!
